Tripurainfo Mega Quiz: CM urges for deeper outreach of knowledge among students

Agartala, Aug 05, 2012 : Urging for deeper outreach of education amongst students, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Sunday asked students to get more involved in knowledge-oriented events. Speaking at the 7th All Tripura Mega Quiz competition at Agartala Town Hall here, organized by state’s premiere news based website www.tripurainfo.com, the CM said that students need to get involved in knowledge-oriented events in larger number to ensure a conscious contribution to bottom line of development of the state.

Referring to the discovery of Higgs-Boson particle that made way for a total shift in paradigm of understanding existence, the Chief Minister said that Acharya Satyendranth Bose spoke about existence of the particle long back and still mere quiz competitions don’t foray deeper than surface information. “There was a question connected to the issue. I want to say that knowledge needs a much deeper outreach and students need to know more than just information”, said Sarkar.

Maharaj Pradyot Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, who was present at the inaugural session of the quiz competition, congratulated Tripurainfo.com for organizing 7th All Tripura Mega Quiz for organizing the event for the 7th consecutive time and said that the event has been working wonders in the state for several years. “Participation in the event has visibly risen in the last few years and the fact that the venue is not sufficient anymore to accommodate interested participants proves that Tripurinfo.com has reaped a massive success”, he said. He also urged students and youngsters to get involved in educative events for contributing to bottom line of growth and development of the state. He thanked Tripurainfo.com for the event saying, “7th Tripura Mega quiz has proved that when it comes to knowledge and education, all of us can come together and speak about development and information”.

A large team of state government official including Chief Secretary Dr. S K Panda, Kiran Gitte, District Magistrate (West), JK Sinha, Secretary of the state government, Datamohan Jamatia, Law Secretary along with eminent medico Dr. Bikash Roy, Professor PK Bose, Director of National Institute of Technology, Agartala. Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Tripura, Ashutosh Jindal, IGP (Law and Order) Rajiv Singh and others attended the function as well.

Sekhar Dutta, Chairman of 7th All Tripura Mega Quiz Organizing committee and eminent journalist of the state, eminent journalist Manas Paul and Managing Director of Tripurainfo.com – Jayanta Debnath handed over Rs. 10,000 as contribution to the Chief Minister’s relief fund during the inaugural session.

Like previous years huge gathering were seen in the venue of All Tripura Mega Quiz competition and this year also first prize will be two Laptops and cash amount of Rs 10,000 ( for the pair), second prize will be two Desktop Computers and cash amount of Rs 8,000 ( for the pair) and third prize will be two mobile sets and cash amount of Rs 5,000 ( for the pair).

There will also be three special raffle rounds of Rs 10,000.00 (Rs ten thousand), Rs 5,000(Rs five thousand) and Rs 3,000(Rs three thousand) only.

Besides, attractive prizes for participants as well as audience including school students will also be there.

The battle of wits for the top slots commenced with a written test based on multiple choice questions in OMR sheet (Optical Mark Recognition) and sixteen teams were selected on the basis of performance for the quiz rounds on the dais though the audience rounds are also continue simultaneously with prizes for correct answers to questions put by the quiz masters. The daylong mega quiz programme will proceed through the process of elimination to the final round.

After the distribution of prizes among the slot winners the most attractive part of the quiz will begin with the raffle round based on randomly selected questions and as part of this three special prize of Rs 10, 000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 only in cash will be on offer.
