CM calls for contribution to society

Agartala, Aug 29, 2012 : Tripura government will continue its agitation against the central government policies of foreign direct investment (FDI) in higher education and elimination of pass-fail system up to class eight standard”, said Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.

School Education department organized a unique programme here at Sukanta Academy on Tuesday evening, where 85 persons were felicitated for helping poor and needy students in prosecuting their studies. Speaking at this programme, Chief Minister Sarkar said, Tripura government has always given emphasis on development of human resources of the state along with basic infrastructures for development of education and health services.

Expressing his satisfaction over the ongoing developmental process of the state government with limited resources, Sarkar appealed to all citizen of the state to cooperate in the developmental work of the state government.

‘Attending such unique programme is a totally different experience’, said Sarkar adding that when more and more people contributed towards society, true development would be achieved .He also appealed to the organizers to organize such programme annually to motivate people towards social welfare.

Persons, who contribute to expansion of education and provide financial assistance for building educational and other social infrastructures would also be felicitated in coming days, hoped Sarkar.

School Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty expressing his gratitude towards the 85 social activists, who had contributed for merit scholarship, said such initiatives are very important in our social systems.
