CM urges Indian Air Force to start IAF station in Tripura

Agartala, Jul 26, 2012 : Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar asked Wing Commander GNV Vijaya Anand of the Indian Air Force on Wednesday to start an Air Force station in the state. Wing Commander Anand, Commanding Officer of II ASC and Staff called on the Chief Minister during his short visit on Wednesday.

Indian Air Force is scheduled to start a recruitment rally for induction of young cadres in the post of airmen tomorrow in the state. The recruitment rally would start at Badharghat Dasharatha Deb Stadium from Thursday morning.

The Chief Minister assured the official to extend all necessary aid for the recruitment rally. He also urged Wing Commander Anand to take necessary steps to initiate an Air Force Unit in the state. The state government would allocate necessary land for the purpose, stated Sarkar.
