Tripura likely to face domestic fuel crisis soon

Agartala, Jul 26, 2012 : The state is likely to experience crisis of cooking gas shortly. A source informed on Wednesday that induction of LPG bullets in the state was heavily disrupted due to ongoing unrest in neighbouring Assam. Nomarighat refinery was reported closed due to sporadic violence in Assam. Supply of LPG from the bottling plants suffered massive shortfall as well.

However, induction of Public Distribution System (PDS) items became lot more smooth with the resumption of goods train service. According to a source of the Food and Civil Supplies department, Tripura received 24 wagons of rice and 15 wagons of sugar on Wednesday. Altogether 23 truckloads of rice and 4 truckloads of sugar reached the state on the same day.
