Agartala, Aug 12, 2012 : Four youths were arrested from Palace Compound area under West Agartala Police Station on Saturday evening after they were found in possession of suspected heroin pouch worth about Rs 1 lakh in international market.
Police said, four youths Vishal Kanti Deb (19) of Ramnagar- 10, Abhik Sarkar (18) of Bhati Abhoynagar, Imanuel Debbarma (19) of Colonel Chowmuhani and Md Ashik Choudhury (20) of Bhati Abhoynagar have been caught red handed with suspected heroin packets.
A pouch of 5 gram heroin was recovered from the possession of one of the accused, Vishal, from a house in Palace Compound.
Later, police also arrested his associates, who were also found in possession of the chemical drug.
According to Police, the recovered heroin will be sent to the forensic laboratory for necessary test. Police suspected that Vishal, Abhik, Imanuel and Ashik were engaged with a drug syndicate.
A specific case has been registered and started investigation to reveal how they get heroin and racket details.
