7th All Tripura Mega Quiz- 2012 ends with enthusiasm

Agartala, Aug 06, 2012 : The 7th All Tripura Mega Quiz-2012, organized by Northeast’s premier news-based website tripurainfo.com in the Agartala Town Hall ended with enthusiasm on Sunday night at around 10.30 PM. The Mega Quiz had been inaugurated by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar at 1-00 in the afternoon. 

The mega programme had commenced with a written screening test for 878 participants in pairs from 11-00 AM.A total of 439 pairs of quiz enthusiasts appeared at the screening test. The preliminary quiz round had begun at around 11-30 A.M. with 16 best teams selected from the screening test, interspersed by audience rounds.

The Chief Minister in his inaugural speech applauded the organizers for organizing such mega event of knowledge since 2005.

Maharaj Pradyot Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, who was present at the inaugural session of the quiz competition, congratulated Tripurainfo.com for organizing 7th All Tripura Mega Quiz for organizing the event for the 7th consecutive time and said that the event has been working wonders in the state for several years. 

Later, in the inaugural programme, Chief Minister unveiled a book titled ‘Asimantik Tripura’, composed by tripurainfo team. Tripurainfo team also donated Rs 10 thousand collected from the fees to the Chief Minister's relief fund.

A large team of state government officials including Chief Secretary Dr. S K Panda, Kiran Gitte, District Magistrate (West), JK Sinha, Secretary of the state government, Datamohan Jamatia, Law Secretary along with eminent medico Dr. Bikash Roy, Professor PK Bose, Director of National Institute of Technology, Agartala. Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Tripura, Ashutosh Jindal, IGP (Law and Order) Rajiv Singh and others attended the function as well.

It may be recalled here that, all Tripura mega Quiz happens to be the state’s biggest open quiz competition. There were three quiz masters- Abhijit Bhattacharya, Nandu Panicker and Bharat Jain-this time. Apart from this trio, Chief electoral Officer (CEO) of Tripura Ashutosh Jindal and IGP (Law and Order) Rajeev Singh also performed as quiz masters.

There were special rounds for students and audience on environmental pollution, disaster management, global warming, Right to Information and HIV-AIDS in the real battle of intelligence.

There was also a raffle of Rs 10,000.00 (Rs Ten thousand) only and air tickets for Kolkata. Besides, attractive prizes for participants as well as audience were also given.

This year first prize was secured by Paramartha Chakraborty and Aneek Roy Chowdhury with prizes of two Laptop and a cash amount of Rs 10,000.

Second prize was secured by Sumit Datta and Tamal Poddar, they got two Desktop Computer and a cash amount of Rs 8,000. Third prize was captured by Pradip Sarkar and Kishore Sarkar; they got two Tablet PCs and a cash amount of Rs 5,000.

One Amlan Kumar Ghosh, a class eleven student of Netaji Subash Vidyaniketan got the Rs.10, 000 Raffle round prize from Maharaja Pradyut Kishore Manikya.
