Nine police officers get Police Medal for Meritorious Service

Agartala, Aug 15, 2012 : Independence Day celebrated in Tripura with all pomp and éclat ura. There was no report of any untoward incident in any part of the state till now.

The main programme for celebration of 66th Independence Day was held at Assam Rifle ground on Wednesday morning.

At around 9.10 am, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar in the main programme at Assam Rifles ground hoisted the national flag. He was accorded with march past of the police, security forces and scouts and guides.

Later, Chief Minister decorated a total of nine police personnel with ‘Police Medal for Meritorious Service’, who were approved for Police Medal on the occasion of Independence Day-2011.

The police officers who have been decorated with “Police Medal for Meritorious Service” are Pradip Pal, SP of Khowai district, Rama Rakshit, SP(MTF) ,Arindam Nath, AIGP(Headquarters), Soumitra Dhar, SP(Security), Pintu Debbarma, Deputy SP(SB), Inspector Sanat Kumar Paul, Inspector Pranab Sengupta,. Dipesh Chandra Datta, Subedar and Sanjoy Kumar Bhowmik, Inspector of CID wing.

Tripura police in a press released said, Union Home Ministry has released the list of officers of Tripura who have been approved for Medals, Awards on the occasion of Independence Day,2012 and they will be decorated on August 15, 2013.

Pradyot Bhaumik, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Mobile Task Force (MTF) will get the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

Sven more police personnel were selected for Police Medal for Meritorious Service. They are Puneet Rastogi, DIG(Range), Uttam Kumar Majumder, SP(SB), Rajesh Sharma, Commandant of 2nd battalion TSR, Deb Kumar Sinha, Assistant Commandant of 13th battalion TSR, Bhaskar Chakraborty, Deputy SP (GRP), Rahin Debbarma, Inspector of Police (UB), SP Office, Khowai and Debananda Sinha, Subedar (GD) of 3rd battalion TSR.
