Maharaj Pradyot Kishore rescues panic victims of Bangalore

Agartala, Aug 21, 2012 : Seven days after the rumours of anti-Northeast persecution in Bangalore started, aftermath of the phantom still continues to haunt people. Large number of youths who were working as labourers of local shops including several other humble professions in Bangalore, were found left sans any help and financial assistance in the mid of their journey from Bangalore to Tripura, thanks to the contribution of Karnataka governemnt!



Around twenty boys of Tripuri community from Tripura, known to be engaged in Pune beforehand, were found stranded in Meghalaya without minimum money to afford food or accommodation. The boys were found strangded in a busy market place of the area.



With no money and food, the poor boys, most of whom were reported to be working as simple labourers had recently left Pune after loads of text messages created panic of impending persecution on the Northeasterners following the Assam violence.



Scion of Tripura’s royal family - Maharaja Pradyot Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, came forward to rescue the helpless boys and aranged the entire expenditure of journey, food and accommodation of the troubled boys. Most of them were later identified to be from Teliamura, Khowai and Dhalai district of the state.



Nearly fifteen thousand peopel from the Northeastern region, including students and professionals, fled Bangalore after SMS-created panic of persecution on the regional population in Bangalore started to spread. The rumours were further strengthened by an incident of stabbing on a Tibetan student by two motor-cycle borne men in Mysore. Rumours soon aaded to the fear of people from the region as SMS and messages reportedly started to float threatening northeasterners to stay indoors and many were threatened to leave the city with immediate effect to avoid untoward incidents.
