The law and order situation in Dhanpur assembly segment represented by the chief minister who also holds the home portfolio is deteriorating with every passing day. Today at around 10 AM one youth named Madhu Das was kidnapped in broad daylight from Baranarayan area under Jatrapur assembly segment. What followed was high drama. The kidnappers roamed freely in the area from 8 AM. Soon, after he was kidnapped hundreds of locals blocked the Sonamura – Belonia road. From then onwards the entire administration and police force seemed to have converged to the area. At around 2 PM the road blockade was withdrawn following an assurance by the SDPO that the kidnappers will be booked within the next 24 hours. The three kidnappers were identified as Kabir Hussain, Fazlur Rahman and Habibur Rahman. Kabir is relative of panchayat samiti vice chairman Abdul Karim whose role is also suspected to be behind the kidnapping. Madhu is stated to have landed in trouble in terms of a land grab issue with Karim. Latest reports said Madhu was rushed to Kathalia hospital in a critical condition.
