PCC holds meet to boost organizational activities

Agartala, Jul 07, 2012 : Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) held a meeting amidst boycott of some party MLAs to finalize issues related to organizational activities, electoral rolls, alliance with INPT and the visit of UPA’s Presidential candidate Pranab Mukherjee at Congress Bhawan.

PCC Media Department chairman Ratan Chakraborty said, PCC president chaired the hour-long meeting where former Chief Minister Samir Ranjan Barman, Opposition leader Ratanlal Nath, MLA Asish Kumar Saha and others were present.

In the meeting, the result of Nalchar by-election result was discussed in the light of bootwise vote break-up. Besides, issues such as Papai Saha killing and alliance with INPT also came up for discussion. 

Congress sources said that the party will continue its ,movement for justice in Papai murder case, gang rape in Takkatulsi and murder of Rabi Kumar Debbarma and Litan Debbarma in Jirania, besides massive corruption of Left Front government.

However, sources added some dissident party MLAs including former presidents Surajit Datta, Birajit Sinha, Gopal Roy and MLAs Dilip Sarkar, Subal Bhowmik, Bishwa bandhu Sen and Manoj Debroy skipped the PCC meet.
