Agartala, Jul 06, 2012 : National Students Union of India (NSUI), opposition backed student wing of Tripura, gheraoed Rakhal Debnath, chairman of the Tripura Joint Entrance Board for five hours on Thursday. The student organization has alleged that there were massive irregularities in evaluation of the answer scripts.
NSUI demanded postponement of counseling for candidates who emerged successful in the faulty evaluation process and asked for an impartial investigation into the allegations.
Several instances were found, alleged the NSUI, where candidates appearing at the joint entrance examinations found their answer scripts were not properly evaluted and the correct answers were given zeron instead of required marks.
Vikki Prasad, state president of NSUI said, we have got evidence in the form of reply furnished against RTI application.
" There were gross irregularities and we suspect nepotism and partisan acts behind the evalution fo the answer scripts".
It was however not only NSUI, but also its rival SFI that also smelt a rat behind the alleged 'faulty' evalution.
Nabarun Deb, SFI state secretary accepted the allegations of irregularities in answer script evaluation saying that if there were any such issues, SFI would firmly stand in favour of proper investigation and punishment for the culprits.
However, he criticized the mode of agitation staged by NSUI today.
