Tripura may support nationwide uniform entrance for engg

Agartala, Jul 17, 2012 : While the Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination (TBJE) result controversy continues to haunt the state government, Tripura is on the way of washing hands of the entire stuff of entrance exams. After giving nod to the proposal of centrally conducted medical entrance examination earlier this year, Tripura was found to be actively considering possibilities of supporting proposal for nationwide uniform entrance exam in engineering education also.

Speaking to reporters at the civil secretariat here this evening, School Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty said, “the state government is actively considering the proposal for supporting centrally monitored uniform joint entrance examination for engineering education in the lines of medical education. We shall not object to the proposal if the interests of Tripura aren’t hampered”. The minister, however, declined to give any statements on the current controversy of TBJEE result scam.
