Agartala, Jul 20, 2012 : The National
Institute of Technology, Agartala will introduce more specialized course
including disciplines like hydro-informatics, aeronautics and
automobile and soon it will be the knowledge hub in entire Northeast
region, said Dr PK Bose Director, NIT-Agartala.
NIT Agartala, which has bagged an award from 1st World Education Congress in the category of engineering colleges and also been ranked in National B-School award by ABP News, is now providing courses on civil, mechanical, electrical and computer science engineering at the post graduate level.
Briefing media at NIT campus, Jirania on Thursday, he added that the symposium had also felicitated the director for his contribution in the education sector.
Highlighting on the ongoing projects and their status, Dr Bose informed that several construction works are underway.
He said that for upgradation of NIT, Agartala as world-class educational institute, the Union Human Resources Development Ministry has taken several initiatives to improve the infrastructure development.
“All these infrastructural development activities are being carried out in an effective and time-saving formula”, stated the Director.
He said, NIT Agartala is looking for an expansion of its campus for the purpose.
NIT Agartala is working on strengthening research in modern sciences and along with the Indian Institute of Technologies; it has received financial assistance from the concerned ministry to set up a centre of excellence in this campus, said Dr Bose.
