HC orders seizure of TBJEE answer scripts, opposition seeks judicial inquiry

Agartala, Jul 10, 2012 : Adding new dimension to the joint entrance controversy, Gauhati High Court, Agartala Bench, today ordered to seize all answer scripts of Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination (TBJEE). A single bench of the Court chaired by Justice Subhashihs Talapatra today ordered to seize the answer scripts in the face of constantly rising complaints on the answer script controversy. Eleven dissatisfied students filed writ petition against joint entrance evaluation at the High Court till Monday. Court officials, accompanied by Rakhal Debnath, chairman of the joint entrance board, conducted raid in the board and seized over 3,000 answer scripts throughout the day.

Meanwhile, the opposition has sought judicial investigation over alleged irregularities of joint entrance evaluation process. Alleging that ruling Left Front government has masterminded the irregularities in evaluation process, Opposition leader Ratan Lal Nath today demanded a judicial inquiry into allegations of irregularities in the evaluation process by a sitting judge of the High Court. “The nation runs on Optical Marking Recognition (OMR) system of evaluation. Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination is walking on the opposite direction. It was a deliberate effort to manipulate the evaluation process”, he alleged.
