CM for higher pass percentage in board exams

Agartala, Jul 05, 2012 : Chief Minister Manik Sarkar emphasized the importance of improved pass percentage in secondary and higher secondary levels.

Speaking at a felicitation ceremony for Madhyamik and HS exam toppers organized by Tripura Government Teachers’ Association (HBRoad) at Sukanta Academy auditorium on Wednesday , Sarkar said the present infrastructure in education sector is not reflected in the outcome of pass percentages.

Listing out the infrastructure, Sarkar added that priority on the expansion of scope in education sector has been given by the state government.

“We want, the teachers should join the noble mission and help as much as they can”, the Chief Minister urged. He stressed on friendly relationship between the teachers and students.

Sarkar advised the students not to ignore the call of the homeland after getting higher education. Altogether 26 toppers of Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examination were felicitated in the programme.

However, there was no assurance on the part of Chief Minister for those who have been facing financial problems for pursuing their higher studies. School Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty in his address told the rank holders, “behind your success, there are contributions of many people in this society. When you grow up and establish yourself in this society, do not forget them”.

“The state government is trying to build a state which offers a lot of opportunities in every sector”, he maintained. Among others, Ashim Paul, Amal Chatterjee and Bishnu Prasad Bhattacharjee were also present.
