Madhyamik results declared, 63.83 percent pass

Agartala, Jun 09, 2012 : The results for Madhyamik and Madrasa Madhyamik examinations under TBSE were declared on Saturday morning.

Addressing a press conference here at Board office, TBSE’s president Prof Amitabha Debroy said, within 70 days from the commencement of examinations from March 2 last, the much awaited results were declared.

Altogether 47802candidates had enrolled for the examinations, among them 45788 candidates had actually appeared from 793 schools across the state, recording an increase of 5.23% compared to 2011 in terms of appearance of candidates which was 43512 last year.

Among the candidates who appeared 21659 are females and the rest of 24129 are male candidates with sex ratio of 900:1000(female: male).

TBSE set up 75examination centers and 127 examination venues across all subdivisions of Tripura.

However, Agartala schools dominated the merit list of top ten of the board examination. This year TBSE placed 14 candidates in the top ten positions. Souvik Das from Shishu Bihar H. S. School got number-1 rank with 653 marks. He got letter marks in seven subjects

Only three candidates from South Tripura district secured positions in the top ten ranks.

A total of 31601 candidates appeared in both categories of secondary examinations under ‘regular’ candidate category and among them 2123 candidates secured first division, 3042 candidates got second division and 15006 more candidates got third division marks.

Among the candidates who appeared seven were expelled during examinations for adopting unfair means and results of 2 more candidates were withheld, said Debroy.

He congratulated the successful candidates and especially those candidates who appeared in the examinations braving their physical challenges and from correctional home.

Altogether 63.83 percentage of overall success was recorded in the 2012 Madhyamik examinations, which was 62.07 percent in the year 2011.

In the 2012 Madhyamik examinations, a total of 10 candidates with visual disabilities had appeared in the examination and among them 9 candidates secured pass marks with seven second division marks and two more candidates secured third division marks. Two more candidates also appeared from correctional home. Both the candidates of correctional home secured pass marks and among them one student got first division and one got second division marks.

This year, 56 among 793 schools scored cent percent pass, which was 63 in the 2011 Madhyamik examinations. But the number of schools where cent percent students failed decreased from 26 to 22 in the year 2012.

Altogether 40 candidates appeared at Madrasa Madhyamik examinations, which was 22 students in the year 2011. Among them 28 candidates secured pass marks with 76.47 percentage of pass, which decreased compared to the pass percentage of the year 2011.

Like previous years, this year also South Tripura district got highest percentage of pass marks with 72.16 percent, followed by West Tripura district including Agartala which achieved 63.98 percent. Dhalai and North Tripura districts got 55.36 and 55.01 percentages of successful candidates respectively.

A total of 11038 candidates appeared from Autonomous District Council areas of the state. Among them only 4097 candidates secured pass marks with 41.24 percentage of success.
