Agartala schools dominate HS results, Rashmita top

Agartala, Jun 07, 2012 : The results for Higher Secondary (+2) under Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) were published on Thursday morning.

Addressing a press conference here at Board office, TBSE’s president Prof Amitabha Debroy said, within 68 days from the commencement of examinations from March 1 last, the much awaited results were declared.

This year, altogether 23655 candidates enrolled for the examinations, but only 22531 candidates appeared in the examinations from 316 schools across the state, which has increased percentage of 13.80 percent compared to 2011 appeared candidates 19798.

Among the 22531 appeared candidates 9429 candidates are female and rest 13102 are male candidates.

Board set up 49 examinations centers in all subdivisions of Tripura.

However, Agartala schools dominated in the top ten lists of the board examinations. This year TBSE enrolled 12 candidates in the top ten positions. Rashmita Deb from Shishu Bihar H S School got number-1 rank with 448 marks. She got letter marks in Bengali, English, Chemistry, Physics and in Biology. 

Only, one candidate Barnita Das from Dharmanagar Govt, Girls H S School secured positions in the top ten ranks with second position from subdivisional schools of Tripura.

A total of 17221 candidates appeared under ‘regular’ category, among them only 12933 candidates were managed to secured the pass marks, said Prof Debroy adding that 1114 candidates scored with first division, 3908 candidates got second division marks and 7911 more candidates got third division marks.

Among the appeared candidates two students were expelled during examinations for adopting illegal measures and results of 2 more candidates were withheld, said Debroy.

He congratulate the successful candidates and especially for those candidates who appeared in the examinations braving their physical challenges and from correctional home.

In the 2012 HS examinations, a total of 4 candidates with visual disabilities were appeared in the examinations and among them 3 candidates secured pass marks. Four more candidates also appeared from correctional home. All the candidates of correctional home secured pass marks, among them one student got first division and three other got second division marks.

Only five schools, out of total appeared 316 schools of the state secured cent percent pass marks, significantly all 144 appeared candidates from Kamini Kumar Singha Memorial HS School, formerly known as Dhaleshwar HS School shines in the board examinations securing 100 percent pass marks.

Only, three schools among 316 schools did not scored the pass marks.

Like previous years, this year also South Tripura district got highest percentage of pass marks with 71.32 percent, followed by West Tripura district including Agartala got 64.91 percent. Dhalai and North Tripura districts got 51.59 and 54.16 percentages of pass candidates respectively.
