Amrapali, Shatabdi make it to IIM

Agartala, Jun 13, 2012 : Tripura girls successfully make ways in the premiere Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) for post-graduate courses in management.

Amrapali Bhowmik and Shatabdi Majumder were selected for IIMs through Common Admission Test (CAT). Amprapali became the first student to have been selected for IIM –Bangalore from Tripura in general category in last April for the academic year 2012. 

Earlier, Arunima Jamatia had gone to IIM from ST category.

Amrapali is daughter of Rama Rakshit, Superintendent of Mobile Task Force (MTF) wing of Tripura police.

Shatabdi scored 97 percentage of marks in CAT and she had been offered for management course from five private management institutions of the country. But she chooses IIM-Udaipur(Rajasthan) for her next two years of management course. Shatabdi is a daughter of teacher parents Sarbeshwar Majumder and Chaya Majumder.
