BSF observed World Environment Day

Agartala, Jun 05, 2012 : In order to mark the World Environment Day, Border Security Force (BSF) posted in Tripura frontier organized a program here at frontier headquarters in Salbagan on Tuesday with the aim at generating greater awareness about the environment and its protection. 

Official sources said, as part of this, the border guards also organized functions at different locations of Tripura.

The main programme was organized at BSF headquarters in Salbagan under the aegis of BSF Wives Welfare Association (BWWA). 

Rajoo Meena, President BWWA, Tripura Frontier inaugurated the programme and planted saplings. During the programme P C Meena, Inspector General (IG) of Tripura Frontier and other officers and jawans including their families and children planted saplings to protect the ecology of the earth.

Later, in the programme a cultural programme relating to World Environment Day was also organized, in which children and BWWA families along with others took part in various events giving emphasis to create awareness about environment and its protection.
