Agartala, Jun 15, 2012 : Heavy torrential rain and thunder shower had struck Agartala and its vicinity on Friday.
Reports from other parts of the state said, the monsoon with incessant rains and thunderbolts also disturbed the normal life.
MET department sources said, rain and heavy thundershowers may occur in more areas of Tripura during next 24 hours.
With the first incessant monsoon rain for about one and half hours all the low-lying areas of Agartala have been partially and fully submerged with rain water and traffic movements hit road-blocks.
The showers have further cooled the air in the state capital with maximum temperatures plunging to near 30 degrees Celsius from 35 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, there are reports of moderate damages to crops and destruction of electric lines due to incessant rains in several parts of the state. The power supply in and around Agartala has also been disrupted badly due to incessant rains.
