Kharchi festival from June 27, Governor, CM greets people

Agartala, Jun 26, 2012 : Amidst tight security measures the state administration has geared up to celebrate the weeklong festival of Kharchi puja at Chaturdash Devata Mandir at Khayerpur from Wednesday .

All the road connected with fourteen deity temple from Khayerpur has already been renovated and illuminated with colourful lights along with main temple .

Apart from the traditional worships, newly built museum is expected to attract devotes during the festival days. The Haveli museum has been inaugurated by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Monday in the old Palace (Puran Haveli) . 

Administration has made special arrangement for parking of all kind of vehicles and hundreds of civil defence personnel and security forces would also be deployed to provide logistic support to the devotees.

Several police pickets have also been set up in and around the temple premises to ensure peaceful celebration of traditional Kharchi puja. 

However, Governor Dr D Y Patil and Chief Minister Manik Sarkar greets people and conveyed their best wishes to the people of state on the occasion of Kharchi festival.

Governor in his message said, one week long Kharchi Mela and Festival will be beautified by the presence of people irrespective of religion and races. The traditional consciousness of Kharchi Puja would strengthen further peace , integrity and fraternity in state and influence all to concentrate in building prosperous and powerful Tripura .

Chief Minister in his message said, from ancient period this festival of friendship has been flourishing our cultural tradition and heritage. He expected that Kharchi Festival would strengthen further the ongoing stream of fraternity and integrity among people of the state.
