Agartala, Jun 15, 2012 : The admission process for the general degree courses in government degree colleges has begun on Friday with the prospectus distribution for the current academic year amidst heavy security arrangements.
Students across the state are gather at the capital based colleges to collect prospectus to get admission in their respective fields. Long queues are seen at MBB college, BBMC, Ramthakur and Women college campus.
Large number of security forces were deployed infront of all colleges to avoid any untoward violence.
SP (West) RGK Rao said, “adequate security arrangements were made at the colleges in view of the clashes that had taken place during admission in last two years.
Higher Education sources said, the submission of application forms will be taken place by June 20 next. After scrutiny the list will be published on June 28 next. Regular classes are slated to commence from July 10 next.
Meanwhile, SFI, student of ruling CPM, on Thursday set up a help desk in front of all city colleges with flags and festoons. On the other hand, NSUI, Congress’s student wing, had submitted a memorandum to the Higher Education Director seeking adequate infrastructure in the six new degree colleges besides demand for increasing the honours seats.
